ATX Gluten-Free News: May 2010

May 3, 2010

I have lots of Austin gluten-free news to report this week! I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful spring time weather. This week is my birthday week, which for the first time in my life, I am not that excited about. Maybe it is because I am getting older? In the past years, I took it as an excuse to celebrate all month-long. This time, I want it to pass as quickly as possible! 🙂  I am finished with another semester of graduate school and have a month off- a much-needed break. I’ll be spending some time getting my website up and going, catching some gorgeous Texas rays and testing some recipes. I feel like I have too much on my plate. Does anybody else feel that way? I am normally pretty good at budgeting my time but WOW, I have so many projects going on. One in particular I am super excited about. I will be sharing the information on that project soon enough.

My news for this week:

This past week, I was honored to be included in one of my favorite blogger’s,  Living FreeTop Ten Recipes for the week- my Roasted Carrot Pasta with Beets made the list!

I finally updated my About Me section of my blog, make sure and check it out!

Also updated is my Gluten-Free Blogroll and Resources page.

Have you had good experiences eating GF at Kerbey Lane? I didn’t know they had a GF menu (I can’t find one on their website) and had always assumed it would be the kind of place that would be likely to have serious cross-contamination issues — but I would love to be wrong about that!

Hey Kate. I have never had a problem at Kerbey Lane, as far as CC goes. I have never been in love with their food so I do not visit very often, just if I am in a hurry and want something cheap. Their GF menu is not on their website. What is your e-mail and I will forward the menu to you? Thanks- Jess @ ATX Gluten-Free

Jess, thank you! You can send it to katharine dot b at gmail dot com. Much appreciated.

I’m not in love with their food either, but found myself coming home from a show downtown this Friday night and wishing I could stop in for a late-night meal — so it would be lovely to have that option every once in a while. Thanks again!

The last time I was at Kerbey Lane they told me that they’d pulled the gluten free menu. That was last summer though so maybe it’s changed back again?

Happy Birthday fellow Taurus, mine is this week too!
I want to come to Austin!!! Sounds like a great place to be gf! We are over in the Albuquerque area and would like to come visiting some day…so far we have only driven through Amarillo on our way to and from the Midwest. It’s on the list – and now I know the source for all the info!
